Escola de Samba

The Berkshire Samba group and Escola de Samba Have been performing, teaching and thrilling audiences all over the Northeast and
beyond for over ten years.  With a repertoire of traditional Brazilian Samba and Bossa nova, Brazilian Jazz and traditional drum
inspired dance numbers, The Berkshire Samba Group has been gathering a level of notoriety compared with that of a runaway freight
train.  From festivals, weddings, and night clubs to parades, elementary schools and corporate events, The Berkshire Samba group
does it all.  The BSG can custom tailor their music and performance style to any event imaginable.

The Escola de Samba is the "drummer's workshop" division of the BSG. In the Escola de Samba you will be able to play with the
drumming ensemble and learn from master drummer, Jim Weber and many others, about the traditional and fundamental rhythms of
Brazil. Jim and the ensemble will guide anyone, of any level, step by step through these complex rhythms. The Escola de Samba
meets every Thursday at the BSG studio on Rossiter street in Great Barrington Massachusetts @ 7:00 pm. Call ahead to confirm.
